South America Snow Sessions is located on the northern tip of Patagonia…
…in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. Bariloche was built in 1902, in the shadow of the great Andes Mountain Range, overlooking the enormous Nahuel Huapi Lake. Catedral Alta Patagonia is the ski resort where we ride, it is located 30km from Bariloche and it is known for being the first and largest ski center in Argentina.
Instead of moving around mountains or chasing possible storms, South America Snow Sessions has chosen to base itself at the mountain Cerro Catedral. With 35 lifts, pomas and a gondola, it is the largest single resort area in South America.

South America Snow Sessions contracts Josh Lempert of Snowgrind Technologies to fly down to South America for the season and shape a park for SASS & Cerro Catedral. The setup can vary depending on ammount of snowfall. There has been everything from 70 foot channel gaps to mellow jumps to learn on.

The Compound includes main hotel with 22 rooms, restaurant, stage, game room, Freeride center & SASS store; 5 new two-level, 2 bedroom apartments with kitchens, 4 houses and a spa building. There is also another bar/restaurant is also on the property that has live music on a regular basis.

The layout of the setup varies depending on how many clients are in a particular session at the new SASS Compound. Lodging assignments are first come first served, if you have a group interested in a SASS apartment or house don’t wait any longer to sign up, they go fast.
There is someone at the desk 24 hours a day 7 days a week, whether we are at the mountain or not. We also have a satellite SASS medical facility and Camp Store on-site for the hours when everyone is off the mountain.
There are several common areas. The main hotel has a 100 seat dining area, stage, projector movie zone, game room and is also the location for Spanish 1. There is Wifi throughout the property and we encourage clients to use skype to communicate internationally. Skype can call any cell phone or home numbers worldwide for low rates.
The SASS Freeride Demo center is on hand with the latest equipment to help make skiing & riding all that powder easier and more fun.
