Participants experience authentic winter skiing and snowboarding conditions between June and September while getting a unique look at Argentine culture.  SASS also offers backcountry safety classes, Spanish classes and the best pro coaches on earth.  Our rider – coach ratio is 5:1; SASS coaches ride with their groups all day and SASS participants always come first.

Instead of moving around mountains or chasing possible storms, South America Snow Sessions has chosen to base itself at the mountain Cerro Catedral in Bariloche, Argentina.  With 35 lifts, pomas and a gondola spread out over 3 peaks makes it one of the largest single resort areas in the Southern Hemisphere. Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia offers some of the best tree skiing anywhere in the world, combined with steep chutes, rock drops for days, wide open bowl skiing, a full park and zones to build any type of jump you can imagine. At South America Snow Sessions we understand how important your children are to you. The SASS Under 18 Package is our premium, all inclusive package that offers SASS supervision from the moment participants arrive in Buenos Aires and is fully structured to help participants reach personal and educational goals for the trip.

 

SASS encourages all parents to read through the information listed on our INFO & POLICIES pages to become more acquainted with SASS as an organization and to help answer some of the many questions that you may have about travelling to Argentina. What began as an opportunity of a lifetime is turning into a life of reality. My son will return for a third summer to SASS, earning his own money to go. SASS has provided a unique experience beyond the boundless joy of riding winter snow in our summertime.
Along with the skill development, backcountry/avalanche awareness, contact with varied professionals in the snow sports industry and Spanish class, I have seen him grow in confidence, independence, self-understanding and personal direction because of his involvement with SASS. His participation has given him exposure and appreciation of another culture, as well as his own, and furnished him with valuable life experience and lasting friendships.

**At South America Snow Sessions, our main focus is Safety, and Backcountry Awareness. It is HIGHLY recommended for all clients to have a backcountry kit when coming down to participate in South America Snow Sessions. A Backcountry kit consists of a Avalanche Beacon, Shovel, Probe and an appropriate Backpack to carry it all. if you do not have these items it will severely limit the experience as off piste activities will not be allowed.  SASS offers backcountry kit rentals at the rate of $250 per session.  Kits can also be purchased through AvalancheTools.com by calling 1-866-680-0872 and letting them know you are from SASS.  For more information please contact us at info@SAsnow.com

South America Snow Sessions isn’t quite a snowboard camp, although you might hear us referred to as a ski and snowboard camp. We prefer to think of ourselves as a freeride program in Argentina, rather than an Argentina ski camp. We operate out of Cerro Catedral, Bariloche Argentina, in Northern Patagonia. We are a full service tour provider, offering guided summer skiing and snowboarding at Cerro Catedral, in the Bariloche backcountry, and tours around the backcountry in Patagonia, Argentina. We believe that by providing people with a guided backcountry experience in the mountains Cerro Catedral and around Patagonia, that we can truly provide customers with the experience of a lifetime. These experiences often include ski touring, hut trips and backcountry skiing near Cathedral. We also partner with Sierra Nevada College for our Patagonia Classroom program with both SASS and SASSGlobal, allowing students to earn college credit while skiing and snowboarding in Argentina. We also offer ski and snowboard industry internships, financial aid and avalanche classes in Bariloche.
